Conservation Workday

Outdoor Meeting: Wildflowers of Kilminning
Sunday 22nd, meet in the car park between Crail & Fife Ness (NO 631 087), 14.00
Sue Armstrong will lead a walk along the Fife Coastal Path and through the Kilminning reserve, looking at the birds but particularly also at the flowers abundant in the area in spring. Contact Sue Armstrong, s.armstrong@chem.gla.ac.uk or 01334 838279.

Wildflowers of the Lomonds
Thursday 2nd, Holl Reservoir, meet at the Holl Resv. car park (NO 225 034), 19.15.
Tom and Biddy Gray will lead a visit to Holl Meadow and a walk circumnavigating the Reservoir, concentrating on wildflowers. Contact Biddy Gray, 01592 752372.
Start Wildlife Week at Barnyards Marsh
Saturday 4th, meet at reserve entrance near car park by Kinneuchar Inn, Kilconquhar, (NO 484 021) 14.00. The marsh is usually wet underfoot: wellies recommended.
Reserve convener Albert Lawrie, with Gordon Corbet, will lead a walk round the marsh, concentrating on plant life and invertebrates; then we will move on to look at the birds on Kilconquhar Loch. Contact Albert Lawrie, 01333 330480.

Orchids at Tentsmuir
Wednesday 22nd, meet in the Kinshaldy car park (NO 498 242), 14.00.
SNH warden Tom Cunningham will lead a walk to look for orchids and other wildflowers in Tentmuir sands. Contact Jean Stewart 01334 475763.
Tree Group Workout
Saturday 25th, meet Hill of Tarvit (NO 382 119) tree nursery in the Walled Garden, 10.00-12.00.
All are welcome for much-needed weeding at the Tree Nursery; please bring a hoe if possible. Contact Paul Blackburn, 01382 542826.
Bankhead Moss Reserve Open Meeting

Brain’s Orchid Meadow THIS EVENT
HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Tuesday 5th, meet in the meadow off minor road (signposted Aldie) 1 mile east of Powmill (NT 034 984), 19.30.
This time we will be looking at the reproductive system of the Greater Butterfly Orchid with the help of a microscope and display monitor. We also hope to have caught some of the moths that are the specific pollinators. Joint meeting with the Stirling MC and FWAG. Contact Tim Brain, 01577 840317.

Saturday 16th, meet on the Alyth-Dalrunzion minor road (NO 165 555), leaving the A93 near Blackhall Farm, 10.00. Wellies essential! Bring lunch.

Falkland Landscapes: Stone, Wood and Water in Maspie Den

Fungi and Lichens in West Fife
