Outdoor Meeting: Morton Lochs and Tentsmuir Forest

Sunday 12, meet Morton Lochs car park (N0 465 264) at 12.00. Bring sandwiches

Visit Morton Lochs, where over lunch in the bird hide, the Warden, Tom Cunningham, will describe recent management work to improve the habitat. Then on to Tentsmuir Forest, where Tom will lead a walk and describe the reserve management and its impact on wildlife. Joint meeting with Fife SOC. Contact Sue Armstrong 01334 838279

Celebration of the Trust’s 40th Anniversary

Monday 4th, Age Concern Hall, Cupar at 19.30

Frank Spragge will introduce a variety of speakers who will recall significant events from the past 40 years. To be followed by an account of personal experiences of volunteers on Handa Island. Contact Vi Shannon 01334 653296.

The Mountains and Glaciers of Patagonia, and Members' Centre AGM

Monday 8th, Auchtermuchty Town Hall, 19.30

Members Centre AGM followed by Dr Charles Warren, Senior Lecturer in School of Geography and Geosciences, University of St Andrews, who will describe his adventures in some very wild & spectacular corners of Patagonia.


SWT Reserves in Fife and Kinross

Thursday 18th, Dundonald Arms Hotel, Culross (nr Dunfermline) 19.30

Steve Blow, Conservation Manager for Fife, will talk about our locally important sites for wildlife.

Quiz Night

Wednesday 1st, St Andrews Town Hall Supper Room, 19.30

Di Lawrence will host a general knowledge quiz with a wildlife flavour! Teams of about 4 arranged in advance or formed on the night.


The Nature of Fife

Monday 13th, Crail Parish Church Hall, Nethergate, Crail, 19.30

Gordon Corbet, Editor of the book “The Nature of Fife” which gives an overview of the natural history of Fife, will look at some of the lesser-known aspects of local wildlife.

Pond Life

Thursday 20th, St Peter’s Episcopal Church, Hope Street, Inverkeithing, 19.30

A lecture by ecologist David Bell, revealing his particular interest in amphibians. Joint meeting with the church Green Gang.


Memories of the Western Med.

Thursday 27th, Kinross Church Centre, High Street, Kinross 19.30

An illustrated lecture by Norman Elkins, Fife representative of the British Trust for Ornithology and editor of Fife Bird Atlas. Joint meeting with Kinross Camera Club.
