There are approximately 900 trees and shrubs in the tree nursery at present and probably about 500 of these will be ready for planting during the winter. The main species available are Rose, Hawthorn and Oak. However I'm proud of the fact that this year some hazel raised from seed collected from Dunkeld is available for planting. The nursery is only 3/4 full and so I hope that next year we will be able to raise more seedlings. I'd welcome more volunteers for collecting and raising tree seedlings. Notes on the germination and raising of tree seedlings are available from me or from our web site. This year National Tree Week runs from 26th November to the 7th December . I hope to have found a planting site by then and will be organising a tree lifting morning at the Hill of Tarvit nursery on Saturday 22nd November and a planting event on Saturday 29th November.
