I want to pay tribute to my predecessor Gordon Corbet, who for the past five years has brought to the role of Editor his profound and extensive knowledge of botany and zoology, his keen-eyed enthusiasm in the field and his scientist’s attention to detail and passion for accuracy. As an amateur in all these matters, I shall not even try to emulate him. However, my love of and curiosity about our natural environment and its wildlife will, I hope, give me courage to ask YOU, the members, friends and partners of the Scottish Wildlife Trust in Fife and Kinross, to share your expertise and interest through this Newsletter.
